Our abstract “ACTIVE ULCERATIVE COLITIS IS CHARACTERIZED BY ΤΗΕ FORMATION OF THROMBOGENIC TISSUE FACTOR-EXPRESSING NEUTROPHIL EXTRACELLULAR TRAPS” submitted to the 25th United European Gastroenterology (UEG) Week Barcelona 2017 has been selected among all abstracts submitted from “Greece”, and a National Scholar Award 2017 will be presented to our group.

Η μελέτη με τίτλο “ACTIVE ULCERATIVE COLITIS IS CHARACTERIZED BY ΤΗΕ FORMATION OF THROMBOGENIC TISSUE FACTOR-EXPRESSING NEUTROPHIL EXTRACELLULAR TRAPS”, με την οποία θα συμμετέχουμε στο 25ο Συνέδριο της Ευρωπαϊκής Εταιρείας Γαστρεντερολογίας, Βαρκελώνη 2017, βραβεύθηκε ως η καλύτερη εργασία μεταξύ του συνόλου των συμμετοχών από την Ελλάδα και στην ομάδα μας θα απονεμηθεί το βραβείο “National Scholar Award 2017”.

The year in cardiology 2015: acute coronary syndromes

"Pathogenesis, early diagnosis, and risk stratification:
Stakos et al. found that the interaction of thrombin-activated platelets with neutrophils at the site of plaque rupture during acute MI results in local NETs formation and delivery of active tissue factor. The notion that NETs represent a mechanism by which neutrophils release thrombogenic signals during atherothrombosis may offer novel therapeutic targets."
